Note: If you are only auditioning for Vocal Chorus, only a singing audition is required. If only the singing audition is booked, you will not be considered for a Lead or Ensemble role.

You will be auditioning in front of a panel consisting of the Director, Choreographer, Musical Director, Production Managers and representative(s) of North Shore Music Theatre.

Please bring with you:

AUDITIONING FOR A LEAD OR FEATURED ROLE

If you are auditioning for one of the lead or featured roles please:

Prepare a musical theatre song of your own choosing that showcases your voice, in the style of the lead or featured role for which you are auditioning. Ideally this should be no longer than 2 minutes.

Familiarise yourself with the song(s) from the show that features your chosen character, and be prepared to sing sections of that song, if requested to do so by the panel.

Do not be offended if you do not get to sing all of your prepared vocals – it doesn’t mean you are not being considered.

AUDITIONING FOR ENSEMBLE OR CHORUS

If you are auditioning for ensemble or chorus roles please:

Prepare a cut of a musical theatre song of your own choosing that showcases your voice, in the style of WICKED. Ideally this should be no longer than 2 minutes.

Do not be offended if you do not get to sing all of your prepared vocals – it doesn’t mean you are not being considered.

Note: If you are only auditioning for Vocal Chorus, only a singing audition is required. If only the singing audition is booked, you will not be considered for a Lead or Ensemble role.

DANCE AUDITIONS

For the Dance Auditions you will be required to attend the auditions on Sunday 18th October 2020. This will be anytime between 9.00am-12pm and you will be auditioning in a group. All auditionees are required to participate in the dance audition, no matter what role you are going for.

You will be taught a movement routine on the day so no prior preparation is required.

Please wear fitting clothes so we can see body shape and lines created while dancing. Also wear appropriate footwear (ladies – heels please), and bring a drink bottle and sweat towel.

Sandals or bare feet are NOT acceptable under any circumstances. Turn up warm and ready to learn the Choreography.

CALL BACKS

Please be prepared for the possibility of a call back. Recalls will be on Sunday 18th October 2020 from 2.00pm.

Getting a call back does not guarantee a role. Likewise you may be cast even if you are not called back. Please ensure that you have included a telephone number on your audition application form where we can easily reach you during the audition dates.
